We regularly invite, welcome and host visiting alums and other professionals out in the field. This podcast channel is dedicated to interviews with visitors who can provide insight to the multiple areas in which a degree in Journalism & Mass Communication from the University of Iowa can be used.

Our goal is to help inform the public and educate current and prospective students on just how versatile this skillset can be in the world today.

He was the popular music critic for the Chicago Sun-Times and the Austin American-Statesman; a columnist, reviewer and feature writer for Rolling Stone; and a frequent music and book reviewer for a variety of newspapers, magazines and websites.

Dr. Barbie Zelizer is a former journalist known for her work on journalism, culture, memory and images. She has authored/edited fourteen books and over 150 articles/essays. Dr. Zelizer was the 2020 McGranahan lecturer, and addressed invisibility as an invitation to critique in the news and pictures of Donald Trump in the US news media.
